How To Become a Member of the OpenJAUS Community

There are several levels of membership in OpenJAUS.

1) Anonymous visitors may browse the project wiki, browse and checkout the source, view the discussion forums and bug tickets, and view the general activity of the project.

2) Registered users may edit the wiki, enter new tickets and append to existing tickets for bug reports or feature requests, and post on the discussion forums. Registration is done easily by clicking on the Register hyperlink in the upper right corner of any page.

3) Top-Level Contributors are the only users with the privelege of committing code changes to the core libraries. Top-Level Contributor accounts are given to prominent registered users, and after stating their desire to become a Top-Level Contributor, the current Top-Level Contributors vote on the issue. The first steps toward becoming a Top-Level Contributor are to become very familiar with the source, and submit a detailed bug report with a patch to fix the problem. It should be noted that registered users can submit patches against bug reports, which are likely to be pulled into the main code base by Top-Level Contributors.
