Is ther a tutorial for starting out in JAUS?

Unfortunately there is nothing like that. The reference architecture JAUS documents on this website are the most accessible form of complete documentation for JAUS. It is very likely that OpenJAUS will be publishing some web content in the form of online videos or tutorials within the next several months. If you have any specific questions or recommendations of things you would like to learn more about then please let us know.
