This summer is an exciting time for the OpenJAUS community. Work on the next-generation SAE AS-4 based OpenJAUS SDK is coming along very quickly and we have some exciting news to share about the upcoming AUVSI Unmanned Systems conference.
As the development efforts on the next-generation OpenJAUS SDK continues, the OpenJAUS team has put together a survey to help guide us in analyzing the features and capabilities important to our users. We are also considering a new commercial licensing effort to enhance the benefits to our professional users. OpenJAUS has a paper accepted for this year’s AUVSI Unmanned Systems conference. The focus of the paper is on the critical design issues and solutions developed to implement the new SAE AS-4 standards (JSIDL, JSS-Core, etc). It also highlights a number of OpenJAUS features which are currently outside the scope of the JAUS standard and the team’s approach to developing these features for future standardization. Dr. Tom Galluzzo and Dr. Danny Kent will be presenting material from the paper on Wednesday August 25th from 13:30-14:00 and welcome everyone in the robotics community to attend.
